Hemalatha Memorial Talk Inspires Nursing Students To Take Up Organ Donation - Day 2

  • The second day was started with the introductory about the event and sister Hemalatha given by Mr. Prakash, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation. On this day around 163 second year GNM students participated.

     

    Ms. Kavitha, Marketing Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation explained the students  about the concept of organ donation and also explained about the Early Identification of the Potential Donor, difference between cardiac arrest and brain death, cause of brain death, stages of grief and role of nurses during organ donation process. 

     

    A documentary film was screened for the students to understand the concept and importance of organ donation.

     

    Various competitions were organized like slogan, poetry writing, poster designing and role play. Mr. Prakash and Mr. Jeyabal Transplant Coordinators conducted a Quiz competition to ensure that all the students participated.  

     

    At end of the day Mr. Sreekumar, Project Manager, Cadaver Transplant Programme, addressed the gathering. Following that the winners’ names were announced and prizes were distributed. Information brochures about organ donation were given to the students.

     

    Refreshments were distributed to the students.
