On 21st March 2019 auto stands and petty shops in Krishna Nagar and Golden Flats – Mogappair, Chennai were visited and around 15 people were met in this area. Most of the respondents were not aware of the organ donation concepts. Mr. Albin Joseph and Ms. Sunisha S.S, Interns from MMM College of Health Sciences approached them and explained the concepts of organ donation and also answered questions that were asked. Information brochures, green ribbons and donor cards were distributed among them.
There were numerous queries relating to organ donation which included:
Stickers that contain the helpline number of MOHAN Foundation were also distributed to them. 6 drivers agreed to support the cause by pasting the stickers on their auto rickshaws. They were gifted ‘Proud to be an Organ Donor’ badges for supporting the cause.
The National Organ Donation Toll-free Help Line - 1800 103 7100, is operational under the 'Gift Hope, Gift Life' project supported by the SBI Foundation and SBI DFHI Limited.
