  The third day of MOHAN Foundation’s awareness campaign for auto drivers continued in Padi on 22nd March 2019. Auto stands and eateries were visited and around 15 people were interacted with. Mr. Albin Joseph and Ms. Sunisha S.S, Interns from MMM College of Health Sciences approached them and explained the concepts of organ donation and also answered questions that were asked. Information brochures, green ribbons and donor cards were distributed among them.

  There were numerous queries relating to organ donation which included:

  • Why should I let my family know that I am willing to donate organs?
  • Will my family be charged?
  • I am old, can I donate?
  • How to register when in need of an organ?
  • Involvement of the family and consent in the donation process
  • Why is organ donation important?

  Stickers that contain the helpline number of MOHAN Foundation were also distributed to them. 5 drivers agreed to support the cause by pasting the stickers on their auto rickshaws; one eatery owner also pasted the sticker on his shop. They were gifted ‘Proud to be an Organ Donor’ badges for supporting the cause.
