On February 21, 2025 the alumni of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad organised a special screening of the award-winning documentary God, Vultures and Human, made by Rajesh Chandwani. Prof. Dr. Rajesh Chandwani is a faculty member at IIM Ahmedabad and is associated with the Centre for Management of Health Services.
The documentary highlights the journey, challenges, and unwavering commitment of Organ Transplant Coordinators and brings to light their critical role in strengthening the organ donation and transplantation ecosystem in India. The film has received national recognition and was conferred the Best Documentary Film Award at the 71st National Film Awards, where Prof. Chandwani was felicitated by the Hon’ble President of India, Draupadi Murmu, for its impactful contribution to public awareness.
For this screening, Jaya Jairam was invited as a guest speaker. During the interaction, the alumni members acknowledged the sustained and dedicated efforts of MOHAN Foundation in the field of organ donation awareness and advocacy.
Representing MOHAN Foundation, Mr. Nikkhil Nagarkar and Ms. Shubhangi More were also present at the event. Following the screening, Ms. Jaya Jairam and the MOHAN Foundation team were invited to participate in an interactive Q&A session with the alumni members.
During the session, participants raised several pertinent questions related to the process of organ donation, including donor eligibility, consent procedures, the role of transplant coordinators, legal and ethical aspects, and how families are supported during the donation process. Ms. Jaya Jairam addressed these queries in detail and also conducted an awareness session, clarifying common myths and providing accurate information about organ donation.
The participants highly appreciated the work being carried out by MOHAN Foundation and applauded its continuous efforts in spreading awareness, building trust, and strengthening the organ donation ecosystem in India.
The screening was attended by more than 40 alumni members. The event concluded with an engaging discussion and a strong sense of appreciation and awareness towards organ donation and the invaluable contribution of transplant coordinators.
