An organ donation awareness session was conducted on February 05, 2026, at the Traffic Training Institute, Byculla, exclusively for the Mumbai Traffic Police, with 80 officers in attendance. The session was led by Mr. Nikkhil Nagarkar from MOHAN Foundation, who introduced the organization’s mission and its continued efforts to promote organ donation awareness across communities and institutions.

Mr. Nikkhil explained the basics of organ donation, highlighting the difference between living and deceased donation, the importance of family consent, and the legal framework under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA). Officers were sensitized to the concepts of cardiac death and brain stem death, the roles played by eye and skin banks, and the significance of timely coordination in the donation process. Special emphasis was placed on the crucial role of the Traffic Police in facilitating Green Corridors, which are vital for the rapid and safe transport of donated organs.

The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, addressing common myths and facts related to organ donation. The officers actively participated in the discussion, demonstrating keen interest, clarity, and a strong sense of responsibility toward supporting organ donation initiatives and saving lives.
