On the occasion of the World Blood Donors Day, MOHAN Foundation Puducherry conducted an awareness program on organ donation for the staff members of the facility department in Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Puducherry. A two day awareness program was conducted on 13th and 14th of June 2017.
The awareness program was attended by 135 members - facility department supervisors, facility in-charge and other staff members. The session began with a slide show on organ donation, the importance of organ donation, difference between the live donor and deceased donor, organs which can be donated when we are alive/dead, and how can people support organ donation was explained. The session was an interactive session with staff clarifying their doubts on organ donation.
Questions asked after the session:
After the talk 60 staff pledged for organ donation and picked a donor card. We would like to thank Mr. Shantha Kumar Facility AGM for his support. We thank Aishwarya trust for their support to the cause of organ donation.
