Eye donation awareness at Florence Nightingale School of Nursing, Thiruvannamalai

  • On July 17, 2025,  students  of  Florence  Nightingale School of Nursing, Thiruvannamalai were given an orientation to organ and tissue donation awareness. Around 150 students of 2nd and 3rd year  and staff attended the session.  

    Ms. Sangeetha K, Project Executive, MOHAN Foundation  opened the session by introducing the Foundation’s mission and its tireless efforts in organ and eye donation. She spoke of the complex issue of corneal blindness — explaining its causes, the critical importance of corneal donation in restoring vision, and the precautions required to ensure healthy donations. She also provided clear guidance on how students could pledge their eyes for donation, emphasizing how such a decision can directly restore sight to those affected. 

    In the second session, Ms. Sangeetha highlighted the range of training programs and professional courses offered by the MOHAN Foundation. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and valuable feedback from students. 35 individuals took  the  meaningful step of filling out donor cards. MOHAN Foundation thanks  Ms.  Tamilselvi, Principal, for her support in making the session possible.
