Educating outpatients at Superspeciality Hospital, Nagpur

  • On 26th September 2016, Superspecility Hospital, Nagpur, invited MOHAN Foundation to speak about organ donation to the outpatients. Dr. Manish Shrigiriwar   arranged the stall where MOHAN Foundation displayed information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner.   Mr. Bulu Behera & Ms. Kanchan Shewde,  Transplant coordinators managed the stall.

    Information given to outpatients:

    What, when, why and how of organ donation; Information on types organ transplantation done in Nagpur; helpline number & website for information.

    30 patients visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, 10 patients took consent form & 3 people signed consent form and took donor card.

    Questions asked by visitors.

    Can a living person donate a liver?

    In future  can a liver donor suffer liver disease ?

    What is the difference between Natural death and Brain death?

    If patient  is brain death who is the head  to sign the consent form?
