Drivers at Regional Transport Office (R.T.O), Nagpur learn about Organ Donation from MOHAN Foundation

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Powar, RTO officer, Nagpur branch to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving License on 9th October, 2015.

    Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. He highlighted the following points:

    • Importance and need of Organ donation
    • Types of donations –Live and deceased donation
    • Difference between Natural death, Coma and Brain Death
    • Organs and tissues that can be donated
    • THO Act and myths related to Organ donation
    • Eye, skin and whole body  donation
    • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website
    • Activities of  MOHAN Foundation

    It was a very interactive session. 50 participants were present at the session program. The queries post the talk were:

     Where is organ sharing and allocation office in Nagpur?

    What documents need for organ transplant?

    Why is there so much delay for living organ transplant?

    What is the priority list for skin transplant?

    After discussion the program was over.
