When Shri Leela Ram passed away his son Mr. Karthik fulfilled his wish to donate corneas with the help of MOHAN Foundation counselors in Chennai. The family conducted a memorial service at their apartment complex in Urapakkam on 5th November 2017 at 11 AM. The family invited MOHAN Foundation staff to speak to his family members and relatives on the topic of organ donation.
Mr. Karthik had called the helpline and was happy that the cornea donation was done without delay. He decided to promote Organ Donation and its concepts to his family members and relatives. Mr. Siva Shankar, helpline executive of MOHAN Foundation explained the concepts of Organ Donation to the 30 family members gathered on the solemn occasion. He further urged all others also donate their organs after death which will help the people to get a new life to those on the waiting list.
