Deceased Organ Donation awareness stall organized at Hanuman temple, Lave, Nagpur

  • On 17th April 2022, on occasion of Hanuman Jayanti Mr. Siddeshwar Tumbede, the secretary of Hanuman temple of Lave, Nagpur, invited Mr. Bulu Behera - Transplant coordinator of MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur to organize a stall on Organ Donation.

    Mr. Behera thanked Mr. Siddeshwar and organized a stall in the premises of the temple with MOHAN Foundation’s donor card ,broachers, standee and banner.

    Thereafter, Mr. Bulu Behera gave the below information about organ donation to the devotees who were present there.

    1. What is organ donation & who can donate organ?
    2. What is the difference between natural death & brain death?
    3. Difference between living donor and deceased donor.
    4. Difference between medico legal case & non medico legal case.
    5. What is ZTCC and its role in organ donation?
    6. What is the role of MOHAN Foundation in organ donation?
    7. Legal ethics of organ donation was explained.
    8. Information about MOHAN Foundation’s helpline number was shared.
    9. Information about hand transplant and body donation was explained.

     

    Participants appreciated Mr. Bulu for explaining the concepts in a simpler manner, they raised certain questions like

    1. What is the between coma and brain death?
    2. How to pledge our organs?

     

    Mr. Bulu answered all their queries and thanked the audience for their participation and interest.

    Approximately 40 visitors visited the stall and 5 of them signed the pledge forms.
