Deceased Organ Donation and the Role of Investigating officer – Training at Avadi PRS, Chennai

  • On 24th July 2015 MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct a training on Role of Investigating Officer in Brain Death and Organ Donation. The training was attended by the Sub Inspectors and Head Constable from Chennai, Kancheepuram, Villupuram, Madurai and Thiruvallur Districts under the Avadi Police Recruitment School (PRS). Totally 44 police personnel participated in the session and shown their support to the noble cause. The talk was given in the campus of the Police Training College, Ashok Nagar.

    Ms. A. T. Sunitha Transplant Coordinator MOHAN Foundation started the session with the Concept of Organ Donation after that she covered the following topic during her session

    • The Transplantation of Human Organs Act,
    • Difference between Cardiac death, Brain Death and Coma,
    • Protocol followed in Government hospital for MLC organ donation
    • Case Studies  

    End of the day a film was played to explain the concept of organ donation and brain death finally Ms. Sunitha thanked the police officers for the support and cooperation.
