Cricket for a Cause

  • On 8th November 2020, a one-day cricket match for the local players was organized by MOHAN Foundation, during which an information desk was set up to create awareness about organ donation. The match was between the Platinum Green and Orbital Empair teams and Mr. Vinod Thool was the match umpire. Mr. Vivek Wadfale helped the Foundation organize this game which was held at the NIT Maidan, near Platinum Green

    Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation managed the stall where information brochures, donor cards, and banner were on display. Mr. Behera gave information related to the following to visitors:

    • What is organ donation?
    • Who can donate organs?
    • What is the age limit for organ donation?
    • Difference between coma and brain death
    • Who are we donating organs for?
    • Age limit for organ donation
    • Time factor in organ donation
    • Information about Organ Transplant Act 1994
    • Importance of donor card
    • Information about religion and organ donation
    • Role of MOHAN Foundation
    • Using the Helpline number and website of MOHAN Foundation

    The visitors had the following questions:

    • Does MOHAN Foundation offer any financial support?
    • Whom to contact for organ donation?
    • How will MOHAN Foundation be get to know of someone’s death?

    Approximately   50 visitors, including players visited the stall and six of them signed consent form and took donor cards.
