  CMMH nurses with MOHAN Foundation internees

  Chennai Meenakshi Multispecialty Hospital (CMMH)  invited MOHAN Foundation to give a talk to their nursing staff  on Organ Donation and Transplantation.  The first session was held on 13^th May 2013 and the second session held on 24^th May 2013.  The HR Department Head Mr. P. Gangadharan and Mrs. Aleyamma Rajan, Matron organized the first shift nurses to attend the talk.  18 nurses attended the talk.

   

  Ms.Kavitha, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation gave a talk. She explained the following topics:

  1. Introduction to activities of MOHAN Foundation
  2. Normal Human physiology
  3. Brain Death and coma
  4. Concepts of Organ Donation and donor card
  5. Series of test involved to confirm Brain Death
  6. Legal issues
  7. Role and responsibilities during the organ donation process
  8. Organs that can be donated
  9. Toll free helpline number

   

  The group was moved by real donor story. The session concluded  with a  screening of a donor video. Nearly 14 nurses showed their support by signing the Donor card.
