B-Braun employees support the cause of organ donation – Chennai Branch Office

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Irfan Baig, Assistant Manager HR for an awareness program. B Braun, Chennai a medical and pharmaceutical device manufacturing company based in Germany. The session was held on Organ Donation day - 13th August 2018 at 10 AM as part of a Pan India  campaign. Mr. T. S. Siva Shankar, Helpline Executive was deputed for the session.

    The session was for the Office staff of Chennai Branch that included Mr. Sivaraman General Manager – Sales, Mr. Ramachandran, Head – Marketing, Mr. Narasimhan, Zonal Sales Manager and all sales executives which came to a count of 20 members.

    Before the start of session Mr. Irfan introduced Mr. Siva Shankar to the gathered members and played a small video on about saving a life through Organ Donation. Then Mr. Siva Shankar started the session by explaining the Concepts of Organ Donation. He gave brief explanation on the organs that can be donated and stages of organ donation (living, circulatory death and brain death). He gave a detailed explanation on Brain Death and its causes. 

    He explained the Indian law that governs Organ Donation and its penalties. Followed by explaining myths, age criteria and the national helpline number which is maintained by MOHAN Foundation for Organ Donation.

    The session went on for 45 minutes. There were no questions asked but gave a suggestion for increasing the organ donation rates - If a person has registered as a donor carries a donor card, then organ donation should be done, no need of asking parents.
