Awareness talk organized by MOHAN Foundation for Greenwood High School, Bengaluru

  • On 26th July, 2025 MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness talk for the support staff of Greenwood High School, Bengaluru. Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS coordinated with Mr. Sriram, HR to conduct an awareness talk for the staff of Greenwood High School, Bengaluru.

    Mrs. Ranjini began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation and sharing its mission and vision. She then proceeded to cover a wide range of important topics related to organ donation, including:

    • The concept of organ and tissue donation
    • Types of death: circulatory death and brain death
    • Brain death declaration, including the Apnoea test and other clinical assessments
    • The procedures involved in both deceased and live organ donation
    • Specific processes for eye, skin, and bone donation
    • Barriers to organ donation
    • Myths and facts surrounding organ donation
    • The concept and importance of the Green Corridor in organ transport
    • The role of Jeevasarthakathe in organ allocation and coordination in Karnataka
    • An overview of the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA)
    • The importance of carrying a donor card and how to pledge for organ donation

    The session was well-received by the participants. A total of 210 individuals attended the program, among them 185 individuals pledged to become organ donors by signing up at the end of the session.

    MOHAN Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Sriram for his support and for providing the opportunity to conduct this meaningful and impactful session.
