Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Social Work, New Kailash Nagar, Nagpur, conducted an awareness of organ donation talk for volunteers of National Services Scheme (NSS) at Hadad Gaon, Nagpur, on 19 December 2017. Principal Dr. Vinod Gajghate invited to MOHAN Foundation. Mr. Milind Meshram welcomed Mr.Bulu Behera, Transplant coordinator of MOHAN Foundation Nagpur and invited him to deliver a talk on Organ donation.
The talk gave an insight about the subject in a comprehensive manner. He stressed the importance of organ donation. He explained the concept of brain death, rate of organ donation, religious misconception on organ donation, organ donation rules and regulation. He speaks so many information by his talk. 30 NSS volunteers and teachers attended the session. All of them took consent form, after discussion with their families they well sign consent form.
At the end of the lecture Mr. Bulu Behera interacted with the students during the interaction they raised the queries:
1) What is the time duration for organ donation?
2) How much time is taken for liver transplant?
3) Is liver transplant possible in Nagpur?
