An awareness talk on organ donation was conducted by MOHAN Foundation Jaipur Citizen Forum -Navjeevan team members at Atal Seva Kendra Shyosinghpura Panchayat, Jhotwara, Jaipur on 24.01.2018.
Mrs. Ranju Jain and Mr. Roshan Bahadur represented the MFJCF- Navjeevan team. Mrs. Mamta Sharma, Sarpanch and Mr. Babu Lal Kasotiya, Gram Sevak along with 15 villagers and 30 students of Class 11 and 12 attended the session and got sensitized.
Mrs. Ranju Jain described the concept of organ donation and brain death with the help of PowerPoint presentation which was highly appreciated by the villagers and students.
During the awareness session some questions were asked and answered by the member.
1. What is the difference between coma and brain death?
2. I have pledged for organs but my family is not agree, will organ donation take place or not?
3. Within how much time cornea retrieval should take place after death?
Mr. Babu Lal Kasotiya thanked MFJCF- Navjeevan team and shared his experience and said that 5 years ago my father was declared dead due to Brain Hemorrhage but due to less information about organ and tissue donation we could not donate his eyes.
After the session, 15 villagers took donor cards and promised to spread awareness among others and posed with message board "I SUPPORT ORGAN DONATION"
