Mother Teresa Syro Malabar catholic church, Velacherry organised an awareness program on organ donation for their members. They invited MOHAN Foundation to deliver talk on 9th March 2014.
The programme started with a welcome speech given by Fr. John, Velacherry, Chennai. Following that Ms. Jeyabal M, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation delivered a talk on Organ Donation. He concentrated to following topics: Concepts of Organ Donation, Types of Donors, Organs that can be donated after natural and brain death, Importance of Donor Card, Statistics of organ donation for Tamilnadu and Kerala, Toll free helpline number.
Totally 58 members participated in the programme and all of them wished to pledge their organs and picked the donor card. After that MOHAN Foundation presented Fr. John, Toll free helpline number stickers with a request to publicise the number
