Awareness talk and Career Guidance programme for the students of Nazareth College of Arts and Science

  • MOHAN Foundation conducted an Organ Donation Awareness talk and Carrier Guidance programme for the students of the Department of Social Work of Nazareth College of Arts and Science, Chennai. Ms. Kavitha S. Marketing Coordinator represented MOHAN Foundation.

     

    The session was divide into two 1. Organ Donation Awareness Talk 2. Carrier Guidance programme.

     

    Ms. Kavitha S addressed the students of Social Work and M.A English. Following that a career guidance programme was organized for the social work students.  In her talk she explained the following:

     

    • Importance and need of organ donation
    • Types of donations – live and deceased donation
    • Difference between Natural Death, Coma and Brain Death
    • Organs and tissues  that can be donated in cardiac death and brain death
    • Eye donation
    • Importance of Donor card, helpline number and website
    • Role and Responsibilities of a transplant coordinator
    • Scope of a Transplant Coordinator

     

    Nearly 25 students attended the session. At the end of the session “Priceless Gift” information brochures and Transplant Coordinator Training Programme brochures were distributed. All the students supported the noble cause by picking up the donor cards.
