Awareness session on Organ Donation held at Dhanwate National College, Nagpur

  • On 3rd July 2021, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation was invited by Mr Amod Chandna (NCC Program Officer) and Mr Trilok Singh (Subhedar) of 20 BN MAH NCC Unit, Nagpur  to conduct an awareness talk for their students at the NCC  camp at Dhanwate National College, Nagpur. 

    The session was conducted by Ms Prarthana Dwivedi and she covered following topic during her talk

    • Need for organ donation
    • Concept of organ donation
    • Difference between Natural death & Brain Death
    • Myths on organ donation

    Students were very attentive and alert and showed interest to be organ donor. The Session was very interactive where students enthusiastically contributed to the discussion and asked many queries.

    1. Why brain cannot be transplanted?
    2. If the patient is suffering from Polio in one leg can transplant happened?
    3. How are organs distributed?

    Approximately 422 students and twelve NCC Officers attended the session. At the end of the session, Mr Amod Chandna NCC Program Officer gave vote of thanks. She motivated all the students to initiate conversation on organ donation with their parents and family and aware the society. All the students were highly motivated and said they will come forth to make it a success in their areas. Information about the toll-free organ donation helpline was also shared and Students was invited for volunteering program.
