Mr. Mohan Nishtala, Director, NV Lakshmi Foundation invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation to the Staff and Students of MNR Medical College, Sangareddy on 26th March 2025.
Dr. Bhanu Chandra and Mr. Venkatesh of MOHAN Foundation went to MNR Medical College to conduct the session.
Mr. Mohan Nistala shared his experience of his wife’s organ donation and activities of NV Lakshmi Foundation.
Dr. Bhanu Chandra spoke on Organ, tissue, and whole-body donation, the ways of organ transplantation, difference between cardiac death and brain death, concept of brain death and organ donation, Ethical and legal considerations, including the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA), 1994, Organ sharing and allocation procedure by Jeevandan, Role of Transplant coordinator including donor and recipient coordination, The importance of transplant coordinators.
Dr. Murthy, Medical Superintendent along with 400 Staff and Students of MNR Medical College attended the session. The distribution of donor cards facilitated immediately after the session.
