On 10th August, 2013 MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR conducted an awareness session on organ donation for senior citizens of Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi. The session was organized by Ms. Sangeeta Taneja, General Secretary, Senior Citizen Welfare Association, Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi.
30 participants attended the session. 25 of them picked up the donor card and pledged to donate their organs upon their death.
The session was conducted by Dr. Muneet Sahi, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR. The session focused on educating them about organ and tissue donation. There was active participation by the audience. Many expressed their wish to donate their whole body. The contact details of ‘Dadhichi Deh Daan Samiti’ a social organization striving to spread awareness about whole body donation in Delhi-NCR region was provided.
At the end, there was a request made to MOHAN Foundation to help organise another awareness session on a larger scale.
