World Red Cross Day Celebration

On the occasion of World Red Cross Day, SRDF-MF Foundation was honoured to be invited by the Indian Red Cross Society, Haryana State Branch, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness session on organ donation. The program was organized to sensitize students and faculty about the importance of organ and tissue donation, in alignment with the humanitarian values of the Red Cross movement.
The session commenced with a welcome address by the college administration, followed by the introduction of SRDF-MF’s mission and vision. Ms. Preeti Gupta, Program Officer at SRDF-MF, inaugurated the program by emphasizing organ donation as the true “gift of life”. She highlighted the urgent need to bridge the gap between demand and availability of organs in India, comparing national statistics with global benchmarks, and discussing policy frameworks such as the opt-in and opt-out systems.

Around 200 students and faculty members actively participated in the session, engaging with thoughtful questions and expressing their willingness to support the cause. The program concluded with a collective call to action, urging all participants to pledge their organs and spread awareness within their communities.
