On March 2, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation conducted an insightful organ donation awareness session for the senior residents of Girija Old Age Home, Kharghar.
Led by Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi, the session aimed to educate and inspire the elderly about the significance of organ and tissue donation, particularly emphasizing the importance of eye donation. She explained the difference between organ and tissue donation, the process of pledging for donation, and the impact one donor can have on multiple lives.
A total of 15 senior residents attended the session, actively engaging in discussions and asking thoughtful questions such as,
1. Can elderly individuals pledge for eye donation?
2. What is the process for body donation?
Their enthusiasm reflected their willingness to contribute to this noble cause, even in their later years.
MOHAN Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to the management and staff of Girija Old Age Home for their support in organizing this session. The event not only spread awareness but also sparked meaningful conversations on leaving a lasting legacy through organ and tissue donation.
