On 12th July 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ms. Sheril James (HR) for giving awareness about the Organ Donation to their employees at Office.
Dr. Jimmy Gupta held an awareness session and introduced Mohan Foundation, its mission, vision and philanthropy. She then introduced the concept of Organ and tissue donation. She also explained the types of death viz. Cardiac and Brain Death and the organs and tissues that can be donated. She elaborated the procedure about bone donation which was new topic for the public. She also described that tissue donation (skin & eyes) can happen even at home which caught attention of the crowd. She then discussed about Organ Donations that can happen in case of Brain Dead case and number of lives that can be saved by giving the examples of successful transplant stories articles and news about green corridor which was somewhat familiar to the gathering. She also explained about the religious barrier and myths related to organ donation.
Dr. Jimmy lastly showed few heart touching videos about organ donation to the employees so they can empathize the power of organ donation. Also they were invited to join in our volunteering program.Details of Organ donation Helpline No. 1800 103 7100 was also shared.
About 30 employees attended the awareness session. About 10 pledges were taken & few were filled online. We thank Ms. Sheril James (HR) for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
