Awareness Session on Organ Donation Telangana State Model School and Junior College, Gungal

  • On July 8, 2025 - A highly impactful organ donation awareness program achieved resounding success at the Telangana State Model School and Junior College. Project Manager Mr. Venkatesh Kattela from MOHAN Foundation conducted two interactive PowerPoint sessions, engaging over 400 students and faculty members.

    To minimize disruption, the program was strategically divided into two batches: students from 8th to 10th grade, and intermediate students. The interactive talk comprehensively covered essential aspects of organ donation, including:

    • What organ donation is
    • Different types of organ donation
    • The critical distinction between brain death and cardiac arrest
    • The significance of the donor card
    • The consent process involved in organ donation
    • Common myths and misconceptions
    • The urgent need for organ donation in society

    The sessions were characterized by high interactivity, with students actively participating and asking thoughtful questions, effectively dispelling common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation.

    The program was honored by the presence of Principal Lavanya, who expressed her deep appreciation for MOHAN Foundation's dedicated efforts in promoting this vital cause. A particularly inspiring moment occurred when ICT teacher Praveen publicly displayed his organ donor card, a gesture that resonated deeply with many attendees. This powerful act of personal commitment motivated numerous students and faculty members to pledge to donate their organs.

    This initiative underscores the critical importance of engaging educational institutions in fostering a culture of organ donation awareness among the younger generation, paving the way for a more informed and compassionate society.
