  • On August 13, 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted a crucial awareness session on organ donation for ONGC employees, with 70 participants in attendance and 10 employees took pledge. The session was led by Ms. Jaya and covered essential topics, including the process of organ donation, eligibility, and its profound impact on saving lives. Following the presentation, a dynamic discussion took place where employees raised several important questions. One employee mentioned that he had previously pledged to donate organs in 2000 with MOHAN Foundation, showcasing a long-standing commitment to the cause.

During the discussion, employees asked about the maximum age for liver and kidney donation, seeking clarity on eligibility criteria. Another question addressed a complex scenario where, if a person passes away and the wife is willing to consent but the children are not, what the process would be. They inquired whether consent must come from the entire family or if one person’s decision is sufficient. Ms. Jaya provided comprehensive answers to these queries, emphasizing the importance of family consent and the legal and ethical aspects involved.

The session concluded with a notable moment: a senior management person from ONGC took the pledge to support organ donation, highlighting the commitment from leadership. The engagement of employees and their thoughtful questions underscored the importance of raising awareness and addressing concerns in the workplace. The event not only educated the employees but also reinforced a collective responsibility towards organ donation, fostering a supportive and informed community.
