Awareness Session at Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women

  • MOHAN Foundation organized an organ and tissue donation awareness session at Krishnaswamy College for Women, Anna Nagar Chennai on July 11, 2025. Around 120 students attended the session along with teaching staff. All of them were given a green ribbon and information brochures. 

    The session was led by Mr. Ganesh, Senior Project Executive, who gave an introduction about MOHAN Foundation and spoke about organ donation, how to pledge and  the registration process. He also explained the concept of brain death and its relevance to organ donation.  He explained the need for donation and how a person can give life to more than 8 people. To enhance  the understanding, a movie-based quiz related to the topic was conducted.

    The second session was conducted by Ms. Sangeetha, Project Executive, who spoke about eye donation, its significance, and how it helps restore vision for those affected by corneal blindness. She also explained the precautions to be taken for a healthy corneal donation.

    The session concluded with a vote of thanks from the students, followed by a discussion on future events and activities to be conducted during the Eye Donation Fortnight with Dr. Kalpana Devi, Head of the B.Com Department.
