An eye and organ donation awareness session was conducted on January 7, 2026, at Shantai Nursing College, Palghar, with the objective of educating students about the importance of organ and eye donation and encouraging them to support this life-saving cause.
The session was facilitated by Mr. Nikhil, who began by introducing MOHAN Foundation, highlighting its vision and ongoing efforts to promote organ donation awareness across the country. He emphasized the critical need for organ donors and the impact such contributions can have in saving and improving lives.
During the session, detailed information was shared on the concepts of organ and eye donation, including the need for donation, eligibility criteria, and the process involved. Key topics such as brain stem death, cardiac death, and the legal aspects governing organ donation were explained to help students gain a clear understanding of the subject. Common myths and misconceptions were also addressed with factual clarifications.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 250 attendees, reflecting a high level of interest among the students. The interactive nature of the session encouraged active engagement and helped in addressing participants’ queries effectively.
As an outcome of the session, 20 participants came forward to pledge for organ and eye donation, demonstrating their willingness to contribute to this noble cause. The session proved to be informative and impactful in inspiring young healthcare professionals to become advocates for organ donation awareness.
