On March 23, 2026, an organ donation awareness programme was conducted at Orlem Church, Mumbai, Maharashtra, for the general public after Mass. The session was led by Ms. Sakshi with the objective of creating awareness about organ donation and encouraging people to understand its life-saving importance.
During the session, the participants were informed about the meaning and significance of organ donation, and how one donor can save and improve several lives. Important topics such as brain death, cardiac death, and the age criteria for organ donation were explained in a simple and understandable manner. The session also helped participants understand that organ donation is a noble act that can bring hope to many patients waiting for transplants.
Ms. Sakshi addressed the gathering in an engaging way and encouraged them to discuss organ donation with their family members so that they could make informed decisions. The session created a thoughtful atmosphere and helped clear common doubts and misconceptions related to organ donation.
The programme received a positive response from the audience. Around 40 people attended the session after Mass, and 10 participants pledged to donate their organs, making the awareness programme meaningful and impactful.
