MOHAN Foundation Hyderabad was invited by Mrs. Vanisri, Principal of MNR Degree College - Kukatpally for an awareness rally on organ donation on 5th December, 2014. There were more than 1500 students, NCC cadets and general public that have actively participated in the event. All the participants were distributed donor cards, family donor cards, information brochures and activity reports.
Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram and Dr. Koti Reddy of MOHAN Foundation participated in the program and spoke about importance of deceased organ donation, religious and cultural barriers involved with organ donation, benefits of transplantation, T.H.O 1994 Act, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation, religion and organ donation. All the students were also made aware about the Swamy Narayan Life Savers Program and its importance.
The rally was flagged off by Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram after addressing media on the importance of organ donation and the role that media can play in promoting this noble cause of saving lives.
We thank Mrs. Vanisri, Principal, Mrs. Rosy, Academic Director, Capt. M.S. Raju of MNR Educational Society and the student organizers for organizing such an event for a noble cause of bringing awareness among the public on organ donation.
