Awareness Programme on Organ Donation at KLE School, Gokak, Belgaum

  Students attended the session

  On 4^th June 2019, Mrs. Anupama Kowshik, Principal, KLE School, Gokak, Belgaum invited MOHAN Foundation to organize an awareness programme to their students.

  MOHAN Foundation was represented by Project Manager – Ms. Ranjini Shankar MS & Transplant Coordinators Ms. Hemavathi B N & Ms. Sheetal Mudada.

  The following topics were discussed in detail:

  • Organ Donation – 1. Live Donation   2.Deceased Donation
  • Multiple Organ Donation
  • Brain Stem Death
  • Circulatory Death
  • Jeevasarthakathe and its role
  • Organ allocation system in Karnataka
  • Role of Transplant Coordinators in hospital
  • Importance of the Donor Card

  During the interaction, the audience raised the following questions:

  • Importance of time factor in organ transplant
  • Importance of Ventilator
  • Brain Stem Death Certification Process
  • Allocation of organs
