  • On May 7, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness program on organ donation at Agartala Government Medical College & Govind Ballabh Pant (AGMC & GBP) Hospital, Kunjaban, Agartala, West Tripura. The session took place at the Neurology Outpatient Department (OPD) as part of the Foundation’s ongoing initiatives to promote awareness about organ donation and transplantation among the general public.

The session also addressed and dispelled common myths surrounding organ donation, including concerns regarding the availability and cost of organ transplantation services at AGMC & GBP Hospital. Participants were informed that kidney transplants are being provided completely free of cost at the government hospital in Tripura.

Addtionally, participants were informed that the living donor kidney transplantation has commenced at AGMC & GBP Hospital, with seven successful kidney transplants completed to date.

At the conclusion of the session, informational leaflets on organ donation were distributed to further reinforce participants' understanding.
