Awareness Campaign on Organ Donation conducted for Employees of Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd, Khandivali Division, Mumbai

  • Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) in partnership with MOHAN Foundation, had launched ‘Jeevan Amrut – The Sweetest Gift of Life’, a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation for all their employees. As part of this programme, on August 12, 2022, Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd organized an awareness workshop on organ donation for labourers and non-executive staff of Adani Electricity, Khandivali division, Mumbai.

    Ms. Rashmi started the session by asking a few introductory questions on organ donation. She then introduced MOHAN Foundation to the participants and kept the audience engaged throughout the session by discussing the following

    • Organ donation and its need in the society
    • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
    • Types of death- Brain death and Circulatory death
    • Eligibility to donate organs in India
    • Process of Eye donation
    • Importance of donor card

     

    The session was very interactive where participants enthusiastically contributed to the discussion and asked many queries. To name a few: 

    • How does MOHAN Foundation help poor patients to get their transplants done?
    • Is it important to discuss about donor card with the family members?
    • How can a kidney failure patient get a kidney from someone?

     

    Finally, the N.S.S students of Maharshi Dayanand College performed a skit on organ donation, which gave a lot of insight about organ donation. Close to 145 people attended this session.
