An Organ donation Awareness Program was conducted on July 15, 2025 at LIC office, Poonamallee Chennai. The objective of the session was to educate about the organ donation and how to save lives. Around 30 officers of LIC attended the awareness program. Brochures on organ donation and eye donation were distributed to all participants.
Ms. Mridhula, from IIHMR Bangalore and Organ Donation Ambassador explained about organ donation and how to save lives, who can donate and how the donation process works. She explained how to register as an organ donor. The session went well and helped to raise awareness about life saving impact of organ donation. The participants also shared stories from their lived experience of organ donation.
Ms. Sangeetha K. spoke about corneal blindness and emphasized the importance of cornea donation as a life-changing opportunity for those affected. She also shared practical tips for maintaining healthy vision, including simple eye exercises that can help improve eyesight. She explained how to pledge to donate corneas.
