Airtel Delhi Half Marathon

Updated on Tuesday, October 9, 2012
  • MOHAN Foundation’s team participated in the 5th Airtel Delhi Half Marathon on 30th September 2012. It is India’s largest half marathon run, and proclaimed as the ‘world’s richest half marathon’ by the organizers. The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon has over the years attracted some of the world’s biggest names in distance running. World over, in addition to being expression of joy, marathons have also become a platform to raise both awareness and funds about various social causes.

The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon is one such event where every year, individuals, organizations and institutions come forward and pledge their participation to a social cause or charity of their choice. It was for the first time the team of MOHAN Foundation ran for the cause “Be an Organ Donor”. The team participated in the Great Delhi Run (6 km). They wore T-shirts bearing the message -“ Yes! I am an Organ Donor” at the back to spread the message.  As a Fundraising avenue, the team took concerted efforts well before the marathon to network with well wishers and other individuals to raise funds for the cause. These efforts really paid off well and we managed to raise close to INR 2 Lakhs.

MOHAN Foundation is now well geared to not only participate, but also organize similar events in Delhi-NCR that create awareness on Organ Donation amongst the masses.
