A virtual workshop on organ donation for ICICI Foundation- Patna

  • On 12th November 2022, Ms. Rashmi Shetty was invited to conduct an organ donation workshop for ICICI Foundation and Academy. This programme was organised by Transplant Help the Poor Foundation and ICICI Foundation. Mr. Pankaj Kumar from ICICI Foundation organised this programme. The workshop was divided into 2 batches, morning batch consisted of 222 trainees and staff, afternoon batch consisted of 209 members. Totally 431 people attended this session

    Ms. Rashmi addressed the gathering and introduced herself and MOHAN Foundation. She then kept the audience engaged throughout the session by discussing the following in detail:

    • Concept of Organ Donation
    • Organ donation and its need in the society
    • When and how does organ donation take place
    • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
    • Transplant waiting list in India
    • Concept of Brain death and Circulatory death
    • Difference between brain death and coma
    • Eye and skin donation process

     

    Over all the session was very interactive where participants enthusiastically contributed to the discussion and asked many queries. To name a few: 

     

    1. What is the age limit to donate organs?
    2. Why family consent is must and should in our country?
    3. If I donate my organs after my death, will my family members get any monetary reward from the recipient family?
    4. Is there any organ donation related offices in Patna?

     

    We thank Transplant Help the Poor Foundation and ICICI Foundation for organizing this event and supporting the noble cause about organ donation.
