  • On May 20th 2022, Matru Sewa Sangh Institute of Social work (MSSISW) & MOHAN Foundation organized a programme on cleanliness and organ donation. Mrs. Neetu Jagtap, Director of MSW, first year invited Mr. Bulu Behera to give information about organ donation to the community residents. During this event social work students performed a street play on organ donation and cleanliness.

Through the street play, the students creatively conveyed information about organ donation. A difficult topic was very well portrayed in a simpler manner.

Mr. Bulu addressed the social work students and community people and discussed about what is organ donation, who can donate organs, types of organ donation, brain death and circulatory death, role of transplant coordinators, how grief counseling should be done to the grieving families.

Questions asked by the audience were as follows:

    • How can a financially poor kidney failure person find funds for his transplant?
    • After a person is dead, whom should we contact to donate his organs & what is the time limit for organ donation?
    • Where is MOHAN Foundation office located?

Mr. Bulu Behera answered all questions and thanked everyone for participating in the event. The audience expressed their heartfelt appreciation to MOHAN Foundation for their work in creating awareness about organ donation. Around 40 community people were present in this event. Mr. Bulu thanked MSSISW students for inviting him and supporting the cause of organ donation.
