Constables from four districts promise to promote the noble cause

  • The temporary Police Recruitment School of the Tamil Nadu Special Police TSP 6th Battalion at Madurai invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an Awareness session on Organ Donation for their trainee constables. The constables from four districts of Madurai, Trichy, Tiruporrur and Thirupathur participated. The program was held on 15.07.2016 at temporary Police Recruitment School, Madurai. Mr. Prakash K, Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation facilitated the event.

    The programme began with a welcome address by Mr. Senthil Kumar, Admin Writer and invited all participants. The transplant coordinator spoke on the importance of organ donation and the Role, Procedures of an investigating officer.

    The following topics were covered in the presentation:

    • Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country to strengthen the Deceased Organ Donation programme
    • Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
    • Difference between Brain death and Coma
    • Importance of the consent from the family
    • Importance of  Donor card 
    • Tissues and organs  that can be donated

    Totally 520 constables participated and all of them pledged Donor Card and supported the noble cause. The session was more of interactive and few documentary films were shown to educate them. At the end of the program all the constables promised to support the cause wherever they will be posted.
