On January 22, 2023, the organ donation awareness drive by Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance (ETLI) called 'Zindagi Express' with the theme of 'Pass it On' culminated at Bhopal, the heart of India, with a final flag off at the hands of Shri Vishwas Sarang, Minister of Medical Education, Madhya Pradesh. As part of the culmination, a Relay Marathon called #PassItOnMarathon was held at Bhopal School of Social Sciences, in which more than 500 people participated.
MOHAN Foundation has been the partnering NGO in this entire campaign that was launched on January 5, 2023 at Hyderabad, with two vehicles called 'Zindagi Express', which started from Hyderabad and travelled through the west and east of India, stopping over at various cities while carrying the Organ donation torch. On January 22, 2023, both the vehicles completed their journey at Bhopal, the heart of India, while having travelled 5500 KMS, 50 cities in the shape of a Heart.
The culmination event was marked by a Relay marathon that was flagged off at the hands of Bhopal's Mayor, Smt Malti Rai. At the end, the marathon winners were felicitated by Bhopal's Collector, Shri Avinash Lavaniya. ETLI's senior management, Mr. Sumit Rai, MD & CEO, Mr. Shubrajit Mukhopadhyay, Executive Director and Mr. Abhishek Gupts, Chief Marketing Officer spoke to the public about why ETLI has taken upon itself to raise awareness about organ donation. Ms. Jaya Jairam, Project Director at MOHAN Foundation addressed the crowd and motivated them to Pledge their Organs.
This campaign marks the fourth year of organ donation awareness initiatives undertaken by Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance. MOHAN Foundation wholeheartedly appreciates the efforts taken up by ETLI and its senior management in raising the much needed awareness about organ donation.
