On 13th Aug 2021, on the occasion of World Organ Donation Day Organ donation awareness program was conducted in the main waiting area of OPD Section of B.J. GMC Sassoon General Hospital, Pune. Mr Jagdish Borude, Transplant coordinator, MOHAN foundation along with Dr. Jadhav and Dr. Shruti from PSM department had organised the program for OPD Patients and their families.
Mr Jagdish held an awareness session and introduced MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and philanthropy. He elaborated the importance of organ donation, Difference between cardiac death and brain death, organs to be donated after cardiac death and brain death, the time required for organ donation etc.
Lastly he appealed to general public as well as Hospital staff, to take pledge as Organ Donor. About 80 people attended the awareness session and 25 took pledge to become Organ Donor. We thank Dr. Jadhav and Dr. Shruti from PSM department and B.J. GMC Sassoon General Hospital, Pune for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
