Webinar on Organ Donation conducted for Akhila Bharatiya Marwadi Mahila Samelan

  • On 11th August 2023, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Akhila Bharatiya Marwadi Samelan to deliver a talk on Organ Donation to the members of the association. Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram was the key speaker who gave a detailed in-depth explanation on organ donation in Hindi.

     The following were discussed in detail:

    • What is organ donation?
    • Who can donate an organ?
    • What is brain death and natural death?
    • After brain death, which organs and tissues can be donated?
    • After natural death, which tissues can be donated, and what are the time factors?
    • What is the difference between coma and brain death?
    • Is organ donation possible if the patient is in a coma?
    • What are the legal and ethical implications of organ donation?
    • What does the Transplantation of Human Organs Act of 1994 say about organ donation?

     

    The audience enthusiastically posed several questions and asked several questions on organ donation. Close to 73 people attended the session
