Waiting room changes into learning centre for organ donation in Nagpur

  On 17^th May 2016, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. D. T. Powar, Regional Transport Officer, Nagpur   to conduct an awareness session on organ donation. The talk was for the benefit of the drivers who apply for vehicles registration and driving license.

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. In his talk he explained the following points:-

  • Importance and need of Organ donation.
  • Types of donations –Live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural death, Coma and Brain Death.
  • THO Act and myths related to Organ donation.
  • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.

  • Which hospital conduct kidney transplants in Nagpur?

   

  It was a very interactive session. Approximately 35 drivers were present during the talk. 5 drivers took the donor card.

  What is the process of Living Donation?

  In living Donation what documents are submitted to the hospital?
