Volunteers of Ilanthari NGO learn about organ donation.

  • MOHAN Foundation conducted an orientation on organ donation to the volunteers of Team Ilanthari a new NGO on 28th Jan 2017 in Chennai Office. They came to MOHAN Foundation to know about organ donation and create awareness to the public. They plan a camp on blood donation and organ donation and wanted to get proper orientation on the topic.

    The program was conducted by T. S. Siva Shankar, Helpline Executive of MOHAN foundation. The green ribbons were given to the students to support organ donation.

    First a video was played on Tamil Nadu and Organ Donation, followed by the presentation on what, when, why and who on organ donation. The main part of the presentation on Brain Death and organs that can be donated by a Living Person, by Cardiac Death, after Brain Death and myths on Organ Donation.

    Followed by Q & A session for 5 minutes.

    The Question asked:

    Will the eyes be transplanted straightly after taking out from the donor body?

    Finally a video was played which explains the good things happen when a donor donates his organs.

    Around 15 volunteers people came for the program and every one took their donor cards to support the noble cause.
