    To address the training needs of this cadre of health-care professionals, MOHAN Foundation has started the "Transplant Coordinators Training Program" - the first structured course in the Asian subcontinent. The courses have been tailored to suit the requirement of the candidates from both medical and non-medical background. This course will provide weightage to the basic qualification of the candidates by providing them an insight into this complex field.

     

    Course Duration: 15 June 2010 to 15 July 2010

     

    Curriculum:

     

    Theoretical aspects of organ donation and transplantation including ethical, legal, cultural and religious aspects

    Brain death diagnosis, management and certification

    Donor identification and selection

            - Grief counseling

            - Sharing and simulation practice through case histories

    Public education on organ donation

    Networking with hospitals

    Organ retrieval, storage and transport

    Media Relations

    Besides the above, visits to hospitals and families of deceased donors will be arranged.

     

    Eligibility:

    Graduate in Sciences / Social Work / Sociology / Medical Psychology / Nursing / Medicine

     

    Course Fee:

    Individual candidates – Rs.3000/-

    Hospital sponsored candidates – Rs.5000/-
