Training of Surgeons on Kidney Retrieval and Transplantation conducted by ROTTO-SOTTO Mumbai and MOHAN Foundation

  • On March 3rd, 2024, ROTTO - SOTTO, Mumbai, in collaboration with the USI – ISU and MOHAN Foundation successfully organized a Hands-on Cadaver Workshop focusing on Kidney Retrieval and Transplant and Vascular Anastomosis. The event took place at the Clinical Skill Lab, T.N. Medical College & B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai Central, Mumbai – 400 008, attracting the participation of 30 surgeons.

     

    Under the leadership of Dr. Umesh Oza, Chairman of Transplant Section USI, along with Dr. Vikas Jain, Dr. Ajay Oswal, Dr. Anurag Shrimal, Dr. Abhijit Patil, and Dr. Suresh Kumar, the workshop featured demonstrations and hands-on training sessions on fresh cadavers. Surgeons were guided through kidney retrieval and transplant procedures, including both open and laparoscopic modules of donor Nephrectomy and AV Fistula procedures.

     

    Attendees benefitted from the expertise faculties of USI-ISU from various regions of India, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange throughout the workshop.This initiative is supported by SBI Foundation.
