On May 6, 2016 the second batch of Angels of Change - Volunteers for Organ Donation had their third session at MOHAN Foundation office in Gurgaon.
The batch started their training on November 30, 2015 and consisted of 7 students from first year of Institute of Management Studies, Noida. The second session was on December 14, 2015 where the students got an opportunity to interact with donor and recipient families.
The third session at the office primarily focused on recapitulation of the concepts of organ donation and transplantation. To assess their knowledge a small questionnaire on organ donation was distributed to them so that they could fill in their replies. The answers were then discussed and any queries and doubts were resolved. Videos on apnoea & brain stem death testing were also shown.
The volunteers were given suggestions as to how they could contact and network with people so that they could organize awareness talks on organ donation once the training was completed. This would not only help promote the cause of organ donation but also build their leadership qualities.
The session ended with the batch given the task of making presentations on organ donation and presenting them at the next session sometime in July 2016.
