Temple managing committee invites MOHAN Foundation for a talk on organ donation.

  • Mr. Ravi Waghmare Secretary of Shri. Siddhashiv Mandir at Ram Nagar invited Dr. Ravi Wankhede Director of Nagpur Centre of MOHAN Foundation and Transplant Coordinators Bulu Behera & Kanchan Shewde to speak at the General body meeting of the Managing Trustees & members on organ donation on 14th May 2016. 40 members were present at the talk.

    Mr. Ravi Waghmare introduced the speakers. Dr. Ravi Wankhede spoke on the need and importance of donating organs & tissues for the needy. He specially mentioned about the religious misunderstanding, which is one of the major reasons for people to deny donating body, organs & tissues. He said every religion propagates organ donation as a supreme service to humanity and hence to God. Dr. Wankhede explained brain death in detail, a condition which can help several people to donate over 50 organs and tissues. He said that at the very least everybody should donate eyes and skin after death at Nagpur.   Dr. Vilas Dangre a renowned Homeopath and a well know personality of Nagpur spoke on the adhyatma behind donating body and organs for the welfare of the society which was the crux of supreme service to God.

    Present on the occasion were Advocate Y B Fadnis, Shri. Rajabhau Bhaskare, Shri. Prakash Badge & others. Many members wished to support organ donation. The Trustees asked Dr. Ravi Wankhede to put up a hoarding in the premises of the temple. Mr. Ravi Waghmare proposed a vote of thanks.
