Temple committee organizes an Organ Donation Awareness Talk at Chandrapur

  • The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Chandrapur & Shree Venkateshwara Swamy Temple Trust, Chandrapur were jointly organized a public awareness & motivation program for organ donation and transplantation on 20th May 2016 at Balaji mandir, Datala road, Chandrapur.

    It was on the occasion of birthday of Mr. Naresh Puglia Ex-Member of Parliament of Chandrapur. MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur center was represented by Mr. Bulu Behera & Ms. Kanchan Shewde Transplant Coordinators. Dr. Pallavi Dhawara, Dr. K. B. Jain, Dr. Pramod Bangde, Dr. Piyush Mutyalwar & Dr. Pinak Dande present on the occasion. More than 250 people attended the session.

    Mr. Kushal Puglia introduced MOHAN Foundation and Ms. Kanchan Shewde spoke on the need and importance of the donating organs & tissue. She explained the concept of brain death and the possibility of donating organs and saving people’s lives. She also mentioned about the religious misunderstanding which is one of the major reasons for people to deny donating body organs & tissues. She said every religious guru said yes to donate organs as it for the purpose of human service. She gave evidence of how Chennai leads in organ donation.

    Mr. Bulu Behera led the discussion and answered of the questions.

    1) Use of Donor card.

    2) Role of ZTCC in Organ Donation and Transplantation.

    3) Priority list of Organ Donation.

    4) Fine and imprisonment in commercial dealings of organs.

    After discussion Naresh Puglia gave Vote of Thanks to MOHAN Foundation as well as senior members.
